Deep in the residential neighborhood of Regent Square, nestled amid the low-branched trees and the "take a book leave a book" boxes, lies Biddle's Escape Coffee Shop.

Painted lavender and yellow with tiny string lights hung about the surrounding trees, the small building exudes positive energy and seems to encourage its patrons to create. Named Biddle's Escape for the road that it sits along, the coffee shop first opened in May of 2012, and seems to have drawn an interested crowd almost instantly. Today, Biddle's Escape hosts events like:

They also display the work of a different artist each month, like Lynne Feinberg's 3D pieces, which will be displayed in Biddle's Escape through October. Additionally, the shop has partnered with local Pittsburgh food trucks like Mac and Gold, Pgh Crepes, and South Side BBQ to create "Food Truck Wednesdays".

My favorite part about Biddle's is...pets are welcome! To all those college students looking to cuddle a dog, Biddle's is full of frendly strangers and animals that are looking for hugs. Save yourself some stress. Pet a dog at Biddle's.
